Wait… it’s not Mother’s Day?!
Well, that was silly!
I was absolutely convinced Sunday was Mother's Day. I had social media posts and emails planned, I was organized, and it fit SO well with the Women's History Month Celebration Sale we are doing.
And then I woke up in the middle of the night and realized.....it's not in Maaaaarch. It's in May. 😂
I had even, not-so-gently, reminded my family they should make me waffles last Sunday. Haha.
Before Alpine Fit, I lived in Ireland.

Wait, back up a second. I am originally from Canada, started Alpine Fit in Alaska, but somewhere in between I had small lingerie and swimwear shop in Galway, Ireland. I carried a Scandinavian line that made beautiful bras, underwear, pyjamas and swimwear, but one thing really differentiated that brand: they were super fit-focused and had over 100 size and fit options! Women came to my shop to get something that felt custom for them, right off the hanger. They could find the right thing for their bodies that they couldn't find anywhere else.
Here's what I learned:
Every body is different. In a real, practical, "this person needs a completely different cut than this other person" way.
Fit matters. You can have all the fancy features you want, but if something doesn't fit, in many cases it doesn't work at all.
Women would rather have something that fits perfectly in one color than ten options that all fit badly.
Comfort and fitting your body isn't negotiable. No amount of "trend-forward" styling matters if it doesn't feel good to wear.
That experience is a big reason Alpine Fit has multiple fit options. It’s why we think about proportions, and seam placements, and style lines, and the properties of the fabrics we develop. It’s what we do. Design for real bodies, in motion.
That time in Ireland is a major reason why Alpine Fit has multiple fit options today. It’s why we obsess over proportions, seam placements, style lines, and fabric properties. We design for real bodies, in motion.
And HOW does this relate to getting the date wrong for Mother's Day?!
It's Mother's Day today in Ireland. I became a mother in Ireland. It's all part of my story, and as an entrepreneur of a small independent brand, my story is inseparable from Alpine Fit.
My time in Ireland, and that bra store shaped the products we design that you choose to wear for adventures.
Thanks for taking this stroll down memory lane with me. I hope whatever you do today, maybe it's making waffles for a mom or person you care about in your life, you have a great day! 💙

Mystery bundles just added.
And a lot of heart (and history) behind every piece.
