The Backpacker Barrel Leg Pants started with adventure travel in mind. The goal was simple:
create a lightweight, packable pant that’s easy to wear, easy to style, and versatile enough to handle whatever the day turns into.
These are the pants you throw on for a morning hike, keep on for a travel day, and still feel good wearing while answering emails or settling into a slow evening at the cabin. They’re designed to move with you, not just physically, but across all the different moments of a trip.
We’ve been wearing them cuffed for a more relaxed look, or full length when you want a bit more coverage. Either way, they’re built to feel intuitive like something you don’t have to think twice about reaching for.
Fabric
They’re made from a super lightweight stretch ripstop nylon that includes recycled fibers. They’re quick-drying, breathable, and treated with a PFAS-free water repellent finish ready for changing conditions without feeling overly technical. There’s a lot of ease in how they move, but still that performance feel you expect from us.
The silhouette
has a subtle barrel shape through the hips and thighs, which gives them a bit more room without losing that streamlined fit. Because of that shape, we kept things simple and made these in one fit option designed to work well across a range of body types.
At their core, these are built for hiking and travel. But like most of our favorite pieces, they don’t stop there.
Right now, they’re coming along on a biking and cabin trip packed as the ONLY pair of pants. That’s really the test: if you can bring just one, this is the one you want.
We made these in a small batch, and they’re a bit more complex to produce than they might look at first glance. So for now, they’re limited and we’re excited to see how you wear them, where you take them, and what they become part of.
