The Fastpacker Fleece Alpha 90 Is Back (And It Was Worth the Wait)
If you’ve emailed us, stopped by our booth at an event, or sent a DM in the last year, there’s one question we kept hearing:“Is the Fastpacker Fleece coming back?”Short answer: yes.Long answer: it took a little longer than any of us planned. And now we can finally say it — the Fastpacker Fleece Alpha 90 is back in stock. With new colors. And a story.

Why the Fastpacker Fleece Became a Fast Favorite
When we first launched the Fastpacker Fleece, we designed it to be the kind of ultralight midlayer you grab without thinking.A fleece you could wear:
- On a quick hike
- Layered under your ski jacket
- Backpacking in any season
- Packed in your bag, just in case
- Or layered casually around town
What made it different wasn’t just the fit.
It was the fabric. The Fastpacker Fleece is made with Polartec® Alpha™ Direct — a highly breathable active insulation originally developed for U.S. Special Forces.

Unlike traditional fleece, Polartec® Alpha™ Direct:
- Traps warmth without bulk
- Breathes exceptionally well during high-output movement
- Dries quickly
- Regulates temperature instead of overheating
- Eliminates the need to constantly add and remove layers
It’s the layer that stays on during the uphill. It is magically warm under a shell. All warmth, with zero bulk. The one you forget you’re wearing — until you’re grateful you are.And when we launched it?It sold out. Then we launched it again. And it sold out again.

The Restock Saga (Yes, There Was One)
Bringing the Fastpacker Fleece Alpha 90 back wasn’t a simple reorder. We order our Polartec® Alpha™ Direct fabric directly from the mill. Last year, production timelines stretched nearly twice as long as usual. When the fabric was finally ready, it went on what can only be described as a cross-country road trip.Tracking showed it in:
- Tennessee
- Ohio
- California
- New Jersey
Before it needed to make its way back to California.Over the holidays, I was on the phone nearly every day with the trucking company trying to locate it.It was stressful — especially knowing that we had wholesale partners waiting and so many of you asking for the restock. The silver lining? All of our cutting and sewing happens right here in the USA.As soon as the fabric arrived, our production team moved quickly. We prioritized units, cut and sewed on tight timelines with a keen attention to adhering to our high quality standars. I was on the factory floor inspecting and pulling the units we needed to pack and ship to our major retail partners Title Nine and Garage Grown Gear.Seeing the finished pieces come off the line — after all of that — was incredibly satisfying.
A National Catalog (Before We Relaunched Ourselves)
One of the most surreal moments?Friends from all over the country started texting me photos of the Fastpacker Fleece in the latest Title Nine catalog.“Is this yours?”“Congratulations!”“I just saw it in print!”Seeing a small, women-led outdoor brand featured in a national catalog — after months of chasing fabric and managing production — was something I won’t forget. It also started driving traffic to Alpinefit.com before we had even relaunched the fleece ourselves. That momentum? Maybe we missed it a bit, but there's no such thing as bad publicity, right? Right?! :)
About That Berry Pink
For this run, we created a custom Berry Pink color in collaboration with Title Nine.We planned to carry some on Alpinefit.com.But they loved it so much they ordered nearly the entire run.We do have a very small handful available — but it truly is limited. If you’re hunting for that pink, you may find your size on our side, or also still find it through Title Nine while supplies last. And yes — we’ll absolutely explore what colors to dream up for the future!

The Same Performance — With a Small Fit Update
At its core, the Fastpacker Fleece hasn’t changed. It’s still:
- Lightweight and breathable
- Excellent shape and drape
- Modern, flexible, versatile
- Easy to layer under a shell
- Comfortable to wear all day
- Designed for hiking, backpacking, skiing, and travel
But we did make one update. You told us you’d love just a touch more length — especially in the larger sizes. We listened. This run features slightly added hem length while maintaining the flattering, modern silhouette that made it a favorite in the first place.Better coverage for range of motion and reach. Same style.
Built With Community (And Great Partners)
This style exists because of partnership.Garage Grown Gear encouraged us to bring this ultralight Alpha Direct fleece to life — and originally ordered the entire first production run last year!Title Nine believed in it enough to feature it in their catalog and it was welcomed with open arms. And you kept asking for it to return. That’s how small brands grow — together.

Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the awesome scuba style hood, that actually sits away from the neck when not in use so it isn't tight, the pony-tail exit for those with long hair, and the hidden thumb loops on the lovely sleeves that are long enough to keep your wrists and hands warm. We LOVE this style and are so glad you do too.
Thanks for being a part of this adventure in business and life!
